Royal Academy of Music St Mark’s Sundays (Woodwind)

For young musicians playing woodwind instruments – an opportunity to come together with professional musicians and peers to hone your musical craft at the beautiful St Marks Church, Paddington.

Session Dates: Sunday 28th January, Sunday 25th February and Sunday 17th March 10.30AM-1.30PM

Sessions to include:

•Three-hour sessions with professional musicians from the Royal Academy of Music’s Junior and Senior Academy, and special guests.

•The chance to meet and play with other young musicians from across London who are interested in developing their musical experience and skills.

•Opportunities to work on repertoire as part of a small ensemble, share your solo playing with others and receive constructive feedback from professional musicians.

•Guidance in warming up, effective practice, musicians’ health & wellbeing, managing nerves and increasing confidence as you develop your skills as a young musician.

•Q & A sessions with professional musicians and current RAM students, offering advice on applying for Junior Academy and/or Undergraduate Music degree programmes, and career options for professional musicians.

Requirements: Participants must be between 12- 17 years old and working at ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall Grade 5 or above on their instrument. We are keen to encourage young people from groups that are currently under-represented in classical music, particularly those who are ethnically and culturally diverse.

The sessions will take place at St Mark’s Church, Old Marylebone Road, Paddington NW1 5BJ. Sessions are free of charge and travel costs can be reimbursed (receipts will be required).
