Over the course of the next year Croydon Music and Arts will be creating a suite of short recorded webinars exploring different aspects of arts education which teachers can access in their own time.

C3 Young Leaders is a group of creatives and changemakers aged 13 - 18. This group works together to produce and programme their own arts events for other young people in Croydon, including CMA Showcase and C3 Live. A space to develop leadership skills through public speaking and organising events, whilst also gaining accredited training in producing, workshop facilitation and events management.

The CSMA is a voluntary charitable organisation run by teachers, headteachers, peripatetic music teachers and staff from CMA. The aim of the association is to support music making in the borough by providing musical opportunities for children to sing in a large choir and to provide opportunities for children to listen to live orchestral music.

We provide an annual two day Festival of Music for children in Key Stages 1 & 2 both mainstream and in special education within the borough of Croydon.

The Festival usually takes place in the Spring term and is held at The Fairfield Halls, featuring an Infant Choir night and a Junior Choir night, with additional musical contributions from local schools and CMA ensembles.

At Christmas, we will provide a festive celebration concert held at Fairfield Halls. This is a perfect opportunity to bring your classes to experience live music in one of the UK’s best concert halls, and hear a diverse range of musical instruments and genres. All presented in a fun way with our comperes.

Access Music Makers

Saturdays at 11:15am

Access Music Makers is for disabled and neuro diverse young people in Years 5-9. The group creates their own music using a variety of percussion, voices and technology. The styles are eclectic, varying from pop songs to atmospheric soundscapes. Members’ interests and aspirations are used to develop musical skills alongside confidence, teamwork, social awareness and much more.

Our Access Studio offers young performers with special educational needs weekly sessions in dance and drama.

The Access Studio is based at Waddon Youth Centre and runs in partnership with Croydon’s SEND service. If you have any specific questions about the programme, or would like to discuss any access needs, please get in touch.
