Group and Individual Instrumental / Vocal Tuition

We invoice per term and all fees are for 10 lessons. 

Group Tuition (G) £ 80 (£ 24 FSM/PP)

  • Per 10 lessons (70% reduction for FSM/PP).
  • 3 in 30 minutes, 10 minutes per pupil in other shared lessons

Paired Tuition (P) £ 120 (£ 36 FSM/PP)

  • Per 10 lessons (70% reduction for FSM/PP).
  • 2 in 30 minutes, 15 minutes per pupil in other shared lessons

Individual Tuition (I20) £ 170

  • Per 10 lessons (FSM reduction does not apply). 
  • Individual 20 minute lesson

Individual Tuition (I30) £ 255

  • Per 10 lessons (FSM reduction does not apply). 
  • Individual 30 minute lesson

Merit Award (M20) £ 123 (£ 36.90 FSM/PP)

  • Per 10 lessons (70% reduction for FSM/PP).
  • Individual 20 minute lesson for pupils who have achieved Star 4 (or are members of a CMA music centre group and have achieved Star 3)

Merit Award (M30) £ 184.50 (£55.35 FSM/PP)

  • Per 10 lessons (70% reduction for FSM/PP). 
  • Individual 30 minute lesson for pupils playing at or above Grade 4 standard

Longer Merit Award lessons are available, pro rata, for more advanced pupils

Ensembles

We invoice per term and all fees are for 10 lessons. 

50% charge reduction for belonging to any additional Centre activity/Ensemble.

Ensemble memberships are free for Looked After Children

Performing Arts Classes (1 hour) £40 (£12 FSM)

  • CMA Saturday Centre: Access Music Makers, Chamber Choir, Creative Music Makers, Dance Stars, Drama Stars, Percussion Stars

  • CMA Tuesday Centre: Creative Dance, Creative Drama, Music Tech, Vocal Vibes (new for 2024!)

Ensembles (2+ hours) £70 (£21 FSM)

  • CMA Saturday Centre: Concert Band, String Orchestra, RockWorks, Intermediate Strings, Junior Strings with Instrument Club or Creative Music Makers.

  • CMA Tuesday Centre: Acoustic Band, Jazz Band, RockShop

  • CMA Friday Centre: All ensembles

Instrumental Star Class & Percussion Stars (1 hour) £45 (£13.50 FSM)

Junior Groups (1 hour) £45 (£13.50 FSM)

Junior Band, Keyboard and Guitar, Strings

Library Classes £45 (£13.50 FSM)

CMA groups at Purley, Thornton Heath and New Addington Libraries

Grade 5 Theory £50 (£15 FSM)

An Online course on Wednesday 4.30-5.30pm

Instrument Hire

Instrument hire is available for all instruments except piano, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, saxophone, recorder and drums.

  • £34 per term (£10.20 if FSM)

  • £10.20 for the first term or part term

  • Free for Children who are Looked After

  • Free for ‘endangered species’ instruments (oboe, bassoon, French horn and double bass) where pupils are members of a CMA music centre.

  • Free School Meals (FSM) discounts apply for one instrument only.

  • Fee reductions do not apply to Individual Tuition (I20/I30)

  • In order to receive the Free School Meals lesson rate, you will be asked to complete a help with fees application and send a copy of the relevant documentation.
