Group lessons for beginners in school years 7-10. Keyboards will not be supplied for the class, students will need to bring their own battery-powered keyboard.
Group lessons for beginners in school years 7-10. Guitars will not be supplied for the class, students will need to bring their own instrument. Recommended guitars: For ages 11 and below Valencia 3/4 size classical guitar. For ages 12 and above Valencia 200 series classical guitar.
Young people work with a music producer to make their own beats and build their own tracks. Participants learn how to use music production software such as Bandlab and Logic. For young people in school years 8 and above.
A group for acoustic guitars, strings, and woodwind. The repertoire is varied covering well-known pop to jazz and classical pieces. Whilst it helps to have good note reading skills, there are tab and chords parts provided. The group often shares projects with singers and other instrumental players and ensembles.
Playing everything from Jazz to Funk, Soul to Swing and Motown, to Anime Theme Tunes. Jazz Band is comprised of the best brass, woodwind, and percussion players from across CMA to make an advanced jazz collective. Jazz Band perform at festivals and events locally and across London. The band has also performed internationally in Germany, Holland, and Croatia.
For those who wish to progress their band playing skills beyond the initial RockWorks (Saturday 11:15am) level. RockShop players learn how to setup band equipment as well as prepare and rehearse standard rock and pop repertoire to an advanced level.
The progression from Saturday centre's DanceWorks or for young people in school years 8 and above.
Learn skills in creating, editing, recording, and mixing music. For young people in school years 8 and above.

Croydon Youth Strings (6pm-8:30pm)
The ensemble structure is flexible depending on the requirements of upcoming concerts. Members of both orchestras usually rehearse with Croydon Youth Winds or Croydon Youth Strings for part of the evening.

Croydon Youth Concert Orchestra (6pm-8:30pm)
CYCO performs music from a wide range of genres, from Baroque and Classical music to songs from musicals and film scores. Rehearsals focus on orchestral training and most students progress to the Youth Orchestra when appropriate. There is a fun and sociable atmosphere, espescially at break times. New members will be welcomed immediately by staff and their peers.
Croydon Youth Orchestra (6pm-8:30pm)
CYO is for more advanced players, usually grade 6 standard and above. Where possible, solo opportunities are offered to the older and most dedicated students. CYO performs classical repertoire. Students will sometimes have the opportunity to get involved with side by side projects with the London Mozart Players. They also perform more contemporary music including film scores.

Recommended starting class for younger children in year 3 upwards who love to act.
Vocal Stars singers can join Chamber Choir when they have demonstrated the necessary skills for the more advanced group. Chamber Choir is our auditioned vocal ensemble. The choir covers a range of repertoire from Palestrina to Punk, Mozart, and Musical Theatre. Students take a lead role in choosing music, have solo and leadership opportunities within the choir, and collaborate with other CMA groups.

Creative Music Makers (10am-11am)
Creative Music Makers is a group for students who attend the 11:15am Saturday groups, plus graduates from the Access Music Makers who would like to explore their creative side and write their own music. Members' interests and aspirations are used to develop musical skills.
This is a group for members of our 9am Saturday groups and StringWorks. Children develop skills by learning a wide range of songs from across the world. Vocal Stars often collaborates with other CMA groups. Singers can join Chamber Choir when they have demonstrated the necessary skills for the more advanced group.
Percussion Stars is a group for new musicians gaining their first experiences of percussion. Students will learn how to use drum sticks correctly, play hand and tuned percussion instruments, create their own rhythms as well as learning to read notation.There will be opportunities to collaborate with other groups and progress onto Star Workshop Wind, Brass, and Percussion and Concert Band. Instruments could include snare drums, tambourines, cymbals, bass drums, glockenspiels, marimbas, djembes, congas, and much more. Students will gain experience of playing with others in a group, as well as gaining individual instrument skills. It is also a great starting point for anyone who would like to learn to play drum kit, or for students wanting to improve their rhythm skills.
Access Music Makers (11:15am-12:15pm)
Access Music Makers is for disabled and neuro-diverse young people in school years 5-9. The group creates their own music using a variety of percussion, voices, and technology. The styles are eclectic, varying from pop songs to atmospheric soundscapes. Members' interests and aspirations are used to develop musical skills alongside confidence, teamwork, social awareness and much more. Concert Band (11:15am-12:15pm)
Recommended for wind and percussion players progressing from Star Workshop (Saturday 9am). Concert Band is for musicians of grade 2 - 5 standard, playing a wide variety of music including popular TV, film, and theatre themes as well as traditional concert band music and exciting collaborative and fusion works. Team spirit is a central part of Concert Band, which helps with our chemistry when performing together.
Recommended for guitarists progressing from Star Workshop (Saturdays 9am). For acoustic/classical guitarists playing at grade 1 standard. GuitarWorks play music from all genres including Baroque and Rock music. Students should be able to read notation or tablature, and there are chord parts for players as well.
Recommended for electric guitarists, keyboard players, and drummers progressing from Star Workshop. Children who love to sing, play guitar, bass, keyboards, or drums can experience playing in a modern rock band. Aimed at grade 1 standard, RockWorks provides the opportunity to put musical skills into practice, performing contemporary and classic rock and pop music.
String Orchestra (11:15am-12:15pm)
Recommended for string players progressing from StringWorks. For players of around grade 3-5 standard, String Orchestra covers a range of musical styles, from film and game music to pop, classical, and baroque. The group performs regularly and enjoys collaborating with Concert Band to form a large orchestra.
For string players who have reached music star 2 or grade 1 standard, StringWorks is the next step after Star Workshop (Saturday 9am). StringWorks play a variety of different styles of music in 3-4 parts.
