In the Autumn 2015 we formed the Student Council, made up of Student Representatives from all three of our music centres who were nominated by their peers. The Council meets two or three times a term to discuss various matters concerning our music centres, and how to run new schemes such as the Jack Petchey Awards. They also bring new ideas that they feel will improve the quality of what our CMA centres offer.

The Student Council was set up to offer students attending our centres the opportunity to get their voices heard and represent their peers, as well as learn new skills and meet new people. Council meetings are interactive and participatory, where Reps are encouraged to take on the roles of Chairing and Minuting the meetings.

Student Council

We are recruiting new Reps for the CMA Student Council!

This opportunity is a great way to meet other students from different centres, learn new skills in leadership/communication and have your say on ways you think our music centres can be improved. The council meets 1 or 2 times a term for two-hour meetings in CMA offices (free tea and biscuits included!). Last year Reps focussed on the new CMA web design, who to allocate Jack Petchey awards to and ideas for Tour.

If you’re interested in being a Rep this year, email Isabel.bianchini@croydon.gov.uk with a short paragraph stating why you’d like to join.
